ChildPROOF is an intensive 5-day trial advocacy course designed for child abuse prosecutors. This course was created to allow prosecutors to hone the specific trial advocacy skills needed for child abuse cases. Students will participate in a number of trial advocacy workshops designed to improve their courtroom abilities. Students will also receive classroom lecture from some of the Country's foremost child abuse prosecutors. Through lectures and critiqued exercises, participants gain hands-on practice in:

-Creating effective trial strategies-- from case handling to presentation of evidence.
-Understanding complex medical issues in child abuse cases.
-Handling evidentiary and practical issues surrounding the forensic interview of a child witness.
-Conducting direct examination of forensic pathologists, psychologists, and non-expert witnesses.
-Strategically adjusting to and cross-examining expert witnesses and theories presented by the defense.
