(NCJ 178926) January 2000
OJJDP Youth in Action Series, Bulletin, 8 page(s)
Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention

Describes how youth can use a public awareness or education project to bring an important issue to their community's attention. In addition to providing practical advice on how to select a topic, develop a message, organize a project, and gather resources, this Youth in Action Bulletin identifies specific challenges and rewards of instituting an education and awareness program. It also supplies tips on evaluating programs and lists organizations and programs that youth may contact for additional information. The Bulletin's writing and format are geared to a youth audience.
