The importance of raising awareness about the consequences of truancy through educational outreach programs was also discussed. The broadcast was designed for persons involved in juvenile detention centers and detention alternatives, local and state policymakers, juvenile justice officials, judges, law enforcement officers, juvenile justice researchers, social service and child welfare professionals, school personnel, and other community leaders and concerned citizens.
