Teens, Crime, and the Community
September 1999
OJJDP Youth in Action Series, Fact Sheet, 2 page(s)
Evans, M.
Describes the activities and goals of Teens, Crime, and the Community (TCC), a national program that combines education and action to reduce teen victimization. A partnership between the National Crime Prevention Council (NCPC) and Street Law, Inc., funded by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, TCC sponsors community service projects and provides a forum for youth to take a stand against violence and help improve their schools and communities. This Youth in Action Fact sheet presents examples of TCC programs that have had a powerful effect on participants and explains how youth can start TCC programs in their own schools and communities. Information on how to learn more about TCC is also provided.
