Direct Services

Direct service strategies focus on limiting the amount of contact between at-risk and delinquent minority youth and the juvenile justice system and as an alternative provide them with greater access to appropriate programs so that they receive the services needed to build skills, improve social functioning, and form healthy relationships with family members, other adults, and peers. The purpose of these strategies is to deter future involvement in the system. The following are examples of direct service strategies for DMC:
