Office of Safe and Drug-Free Schools Announces National Conference

On August 8–10, 2011, the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Safe and Drug-Free Schools (OSDFS) will host its national conference, "Making the Connection: Creating and Maintaining Conditions for Learning." The conference will be held at the Gaylord National Hotel & Convention Center in National Harbor, MD.
Sessions at the conference will focus on youth alcohol and drug abuse prevention; bullying and cyberbullying; violence prevention in schools; emergency management; health, mental health, and physical education; data collection; special populations; and emerging issues. The conference targets potential OSDFS grantees, juvenile justice practitioners, policymakers, education and prevention leaders, and school administrators, among others.
Registration is available online. Online registration will close on July 22, 2011, or when space is no longer available.
