Bulletin Examines Effects of Transfer of Juveniles to Adult Court
December 04, 2012
The Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) has released, "Transfer of Juveniles to Adult Court: Effects of a Broad Policy in One Court." The bulletin examines the effects of transfer from juvenile court to adult court on a sample of serious adolescent offenders. The authors also discuss the implications of the findings for future changes in transfer statutes. The findings are the result of the OJJDP co-sponsored Pathways to Desistance study, which investigates factors that lead serious juvenile offenders to cease or continue offending.
