October is National Substance Abuse Prevention Month. The Office of National Drug Control Policy in collaboration with the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration encourages youth, families, schools, and businesses to participate in the month-long observance by promoting substance abuse prevention programs and activities within their communities.
