- For white and American Indian juveniles, arrest rates for driving under the influence declined by more than half between 1980 and 1994. After a brief period of growth, rates for white and American Indian youth fell again to their lowest point in the 31-year period. By 2010, the white rate was 65% below its 1980 level and the American Indian rate was 75% below its 1980 level.
- Compared to whites and American Indians, trends for black and Asian juveniles showed greater stability over the 31-year period.
