- Arrest rates for curfew and loitering peaked in 1996 for white and Asian juveniles, 1997 for American Indian and black juveniles. The increase between 1980 and the peak year was the greatest for black (277%) juveniles, followed by Asians (208%), whites (145%), and American Indians (51%).
- For most racial groups, the rates dropped quickly after their peaks. By 2010, the rate for Asian juveniles was 66% below its 1997 peak, and rates for American Indian, white, and black juveniles were 71%, 60%, and 35% below their respective peaks.
