return to Tennessee's state list
The Tennessee Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges ceased reporting statewide data to the Archive in 1988. With help from the Archive, the Council designed a new statewide data collection form and began reporting data to the Archive again as of 1993.
As of April 1, 2005, the responsibility for data collection was transferred to the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC). Although the AOC will initially continue to use the same data collection JIF software that has been used in the majority of the counties in the state since 1993, plans are being made to develop new software to replace it. Archive staff visited the AOC to discuss continuation of contributing a data file to the Archive and to meet with key personnel that will be overseeing the data collection process in the future. Archive staff received, processed a file from the new system and incorporated these data into the national reporting format.
