- The proportion of juveniles living in poverty increased for each race group since 2006. In fact, the proportion of white juveniles in poverty in 2011 (18.6%) was at its highest point since 1975.
- The proportion of white juveniles in poverty has been relatively stable since 1975 (varying between 11% and 19%). Comparatively, the proportions of black juveniles (varying between 30% and 48%) and Asian juveniles (varying between 10% and 24%) living in poverty showed greater variation between 1975 and 2011.
