In New York, delinquency services are organized at both the state and local level. County governments or private agencies run detention facilities throughout the state. The Administration for Children's Services' Division of Youth and Family Justice administers detention in New York City. County probation departments supervise youth placed on probation by the Family Court. Juvenile probation in New York City is through the New York City Department of Probation. The New York State Office of Children and Family Services administers commitment. Aftercare services are provided by either the Office of Children and Family Services or the Local Commissioner of Social Services.
