Youth Preventing Drug Abuse
(NCJ 171124) December 1998
OJJDP Youth in Action Series, Bulletin, 8 page(s)
Youth Preventing Drug Abuse, the fourth in OJJDP's series of Youth in Action Bulletins, encourages youth to set up drug prevention projects in their communities. Focusing on the link between drugs and crime, the Bulletin explains that youth can help reduce and prevent crime in their schools and communities by working to prevent drug use. In addition to giving youth step-by-step directions on what it takes to start a drug prevention project, this Bulletin lists specific drug prevention activities, identifies the challenges and rewards of starting up a such a project, supplies tips on how youth can evaluate their projects, and lists organizations for youth to contact for additional information. Like that of other Bulletins in this series, Youth Preventing Drug Abuse's writing and format are geared to youth.
