OJJDP's Major Grant Programs
(NCJ 234072) October 2011
OJJDP In Focus, Fact Sheet, 4 page(s)
This fact sheet discusses OJJDP's grant programs, which are authorized by the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act of 1974, as amended. OJJDP also administers several programs under other legislative authority and through partnerships with other federal agencies. In keeping with OJJDP's mission, these programs are designed to help strengthen the juvenile justice system, prevent juvenile delinquency, hold justice-involved youth accountable, and protect and safeguard the nation's youth.
