This brief offers recommendations for one of the components of the Juvenile Drug Courts/Reclaiming Futures (JDC/RF) initiative that goes beyond the relationship between the court and the youth: community engagement. To inform policymakers and program managers that are seeking to improve or create a JDC/RF program, this policy brief highlights challenges to and recommendations for different aspects of community engagement. Policy recommendations for engaging communities are detailed in the brief.
