OJJDP Updates Statistical Briefing Book
February 11, 2013
Developed by the National Center for Juvenile Justice for the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP), the Statistical Briefing Book offers easy access to statistics on a variety of juvenile justice topics. Its data analysis tools allow users to create custom analyses of juvenile populations, arrests, court cases, and residential placement.
In addition to providing intercensal (2000–09) juvenile population estimates, answers to frequently asked questions on the following have been updated:
- Demographics of this population (living arrangements, teen mothers, poverty).
- Juvenile arrests and trends in arrest rates (updated to include data from 2010).
- Data on state statutes (as of the 2011 legislative session).
