Federal Advisory Committee on Juvenile Justice to Hold Face-To-Face Meeting

Federal Advisory Committee on Juvenile Justice

On Monday, October 20, 2014, from 8:30 am-5:30 pm (ET), and Tuesday, October 21, 2014, from 8:00 am-1:00 pm (ET), the Federal Advisory Committee on Juvenile Justice (FACJJ) will meet in Washington, DC. The proposed agenda includes: (1) introductions and opening statements, including remarks by OJJDP Administrator Robert L. Listenbee; (2) discussion of the FACJJ’s 2013 recommendations and OJJDP’s response; (3) update on “Reforming Juvenile Justice: A Developmental Approach” to include a presentation by a National Academy of Sciences representative; (4) convening of subcommittees (not open to the public on the afternoon of October 20); (5) vote on chair and vice-chair for 2015; and (6) review and discussion of subcommittees’ activities and recommendations. Composed of members of state advisory groups on juvenile justice, the FACJJ advises the President, Congress, and the OJJDP Administrator on matters related to delinquency prevention and juvenile justice.
