October 28, 2015

girls policy guidance On October 28, 2015, at a White House convening, OJJDP Administrator Robert L. Listenbee announced the release of the OJJDP policy guidance on girls, particularly young women of color, and the juvenile justice system. The White House event brought together stakeholders for a discussion on improving policies and practices to interrupt the sexual abuse/trauma-to-prison pipeline of girls and young women of color in the juvenile justice system. OJJDP’s policy guidance outlines the Office’s commitment to provide technical assistance, grants, research, and data collection related to girls and young women and the juvenile justice system. It also includes eight focus areas for states, tribes, and local communities to improve their system and programmatic responses.
