On May 24, 2016, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. ET, OJJDP, in collaboration with the National Girls Initiative, will present “Countering School Pushout and the Criminalization of Girls of Color.” This webinar will examine the pathways to being pushed out of school and confinement for girls of color, particularly African American girls, who are consistently overrepresented in school discipline categories. The webinar also will explore key concepts and strategies to reduce the criminalization of these girls and repair their relationships with their schools.
