Addressing Vicarious Trauma for Staff and Students
1/18/2019 - 1/18/2019
The Tim Gill Center for Media
Colorado Springs, CO
Event Contact:
Jodi Heilbrunn
Sponsoring Organization(s):
National Center for School Engagement
Additional Information:
Vicarious trauma affects teachers' brains in much the same way that it affects their students.

Many teachers are never explicitly taught how to help students who have experienced trauma, let alone address the toll it takes on their own health and personal lives.

Learn strategies for supporting self and staff in ways that decrease burnout, improve camaraderie, and increase job satisfaction.

School administrators will learn what they can do to create school environments that better support teachers exposed to vicarious trauma.
