April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. According to the OJJDP-funded 2014 National Survey of Children's Exposure to Violence, more than one-third of youth up to age 17 experienced a physical assault during the study year. Exposure to traumas can cause children significant physical, mental, and emotional harm with long-term effects that may persist well into adulthood. Learn how OJJDP is raising public awareness about the issue and supporting practitioners, researchers, and communities as they seek solutions to address child abuse. |
