- In 2019, more than 24,000 minority offenders were in residential placement in juvenile facilities across the country; 67% of the national residential placement population.
- White youth's share of juveniles held in placement was greatest for the offenses of sexual assault and status offenses and black youth's share was greatest for robbery and weapons offenses.
