  • Robbery was the most serious offense for a greater proportion of black, Hispanic, American Indian, and Asian juveniles than white juveniles in residential placement.
  • Sexual assault offenses were the most serious offense for a greater proportion of white juveniles than other juveniles in residential placement.
  • Regardless of race/ethnicity, a substantial proportion of youth were held for technical violations of probation, parole, or valid court orders.
