  • More than two-thirds (69%) of facilities held a mix of juveniles in residential placement for violent offenses (murder, violent sex offenses, robbery, and aggravated assault) and juveniles in residential placement for other (nonviolent) offenses.
  • A larger proportion of public facilities held a mix of violent and other offenders (82%) than was the case among private facilities (49%).
