Additionally, stay-at-home orders and school closures likely impacted the volume and type of law-violating behavior by youth referred to juvenile court in 2020.

  • On any given day in 2020, juvenile courts handled 1,400 delinquency cases. In comparison, in 1960, approximately 1,100 delinquency cases were processed daily.
