Note: Data are from law enforcement agencies in 38 states and the District of Columbia. Violence includes murder, rape/sexual assault, robbery, aggravated assault, and simple assault.

- Aggravated assaults by acquaintances also peaked in the hour at the end of the school day (3 p.m.) and again at 8 p.m.
- Sexual assaults by acquaintances or family members are most common at 8 a.m. and noon (i.e., mealtimes) and in the hour after school.
